this sketch is gonna be my sole MerMay because i just... didn't want to draw much this month. it's a damn shame really. merpeople are awesome and i have a vested interest in them--the main character of my original story is a merman xD
speaking of, this is Antaeus' wife, Nerinae, and their young son, Atlantis, very early on in their life when it was still idyllic. here Nerinae is showing Atlantis a beautiful sea snail. sea snails are also poisonous, but my merpeople are the guardians of the sea and cannot be harmed by anything within it.

This is beautiful! I love the motherly scene, showing the next generation the wonders of the sea! I also really enjoy your style, especially the long nails and the spiky fins at the elbows and arms! Nice job!
